S.I.S.T.A. Cookbook Launch PDF Print E-mail

S.I.S.T.A. (Sisters Inspiring Sisters To Achieve) is one of two girl leadership groups at Thomson.

Last year, in addition to hosting Girls' Day, a conference to empower Grade 9 girls, S.I.S.T.A. took on the challenge of creating a literary cookbook with their recipes from around the world and their stories behind those recipes S.I.S.T.A. Soul Food: Delightful Recipes & Recollections is now ready to view and purchase. The book costs $15.00, of which $2.00 goes to a charity of the girls' choice.

The book is available for purchase at Thomson C.I. Please contact Kaydeen Leslie directly if you are interested in getting a copy.

Volunteer Opportunity PDF Print E-mail

Attention Thomson Students!!! There are opportunities available with regards to your 40 hours of required community service. Night School Registration (Sept. 8 - 23, 2014) PDF Print E-mail

Registration for Semester One Night School credit courses begins today, Monday September 8, 2014.   All registration is online through e-Reg.  Students can access the registration process by visiting www.creditprograms.ca. Students will need their TDSB login and password to register for a course and MUST see their guidance counsellor after they have received an email confirming that the course request has been made. The deadline to register is Tuesday, September 23, 2014.

Night School begins on September 29, 2014 for Monday/Wednesday locations and September 30, 2014 for Tuesday/Thursday locations. Birchmount, Albert Campbell and SCAS are the 3 Scarborough night schools available to Thomson students.

 
Study and Go Abroad Fair PDF Print E-mail

If you are interested in attending university, college or travelling to earn your education or valuable volunteer and work experience then please plan to attend the Study and Go Abroad Fair on Saturday October 4th and Sunday October 5th, 2014 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.  The fair runs from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and admission is free.  There are flyers available in Student Services.

 
Ontario Universities' Fair (Sept. 19-21) PDF Print E-mail

If you’re thinking about attending an Ontario university, don’t miss the Ontario Universities’ Fair - the only event where you can visit all 21 Ontario universities in one place!  The OUF happens September 19-21, 2014 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from 10:00AM - 5:00PM and admission is free.  For more information please visit: www.ouf.ca.

 
Go Global Expo PDF Print E-mail

If you are interested in studying, working or volunteering in another country then please plan to attend the Go Global Expo on Saturday September 20th and Sunday September 21st, 2014 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (Maple Leaf Gardens).  The fair runs from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm and admission is free.  There are flyers available in Student Services.

 
Invitation to the Community: New School Meeting PDF Print E-mail

There will be a meeting for community members and parties interested in the new school project on Wednesday July 2, 2014 at 7:00 pm in the cafeteria of Bendale BTI.  Details on the new facility and the future of the existing David and Mary Thomson C.I. building will be presented.  Please see the attached letter for full details.
